The Budget Inn in Winter Haven has its charms. The manager at the front desk is super nice, making check-in smooth and welcoming. My room had a mini fridge, which was a nice perk for storing snacks. However, the room wasn't without its issues. The walls felt thin, allowing noise from outside to come in, especially from partying guests at night. I also noticed a lingering musty smell, which wasn't pleasant, and some mildew stains on the pillowcases. There's a lack of basic amenities, like a hair dryer or hand soap, which can be inconvenient. Parking has its concerns too, with some unsavory characters hanging around the lot. Therefore, while there were enjoyable aspects, several areas need improvement to enhance the overall experience.

Had a great time with friends! Super close to the lake for walks and enjoyed the cable programming in the room. We visited Cypresswood Golf and Country Club, and it was a blast. Staff was friendly, and check-in was smooth. Would recommend for a group getaway.

So, I stayed for 2 nights in a standard double room. The front desk guy was super friendly, which was a nice way to start. The room was okay, but I noticed some smoke smell lingering. Not much in the dining area, but they had free coffee which hit the spot.
